For this years open share I decided to take forward my Expressive data project, mainly as this was what we had worked longest on during the year and so it was already closest to exhibition ready, allowing me to spend more time on the finer detials.

I started by getting paint everywhere but the walls it seems, and unnecessarily filling some holes – really I was just bored and love filling holes in plasterboard.

Somehow, there is no after shot of this hole. However, next time you’re in the garage, look at the back of the projection booth, and you won’t see it! Or you will… depends on whether you’re looking for a hole or not.

Then just doing some clean up…

Then came time to start installing…

Again it was a very simple install, one anchor in the wall and some cable management.

Compared to expressive data, I was no longer using the Bird data to control the board; instead, the board would randomly cycle through 5 cycles each with a random direction, speed and random delays between each. This meant the whole thing could run off the PI easily and I could run the board with much larger delays, making it much more robust for being run for an entire day, 4 days on the trot.
